What to Expect on Flooring Installation Day

Once you've picked a floor and signed off on a quote, the next question is usually "okay, what actually happens on install day?" Here's the walkthrough we give every flooring installation customer before we show up.

Before we arrive

Clear small items, breakables, and anything in closets from the rooms being worked on. We move furniture as part of the job - beds, dressers, sofas - so you don't need to handle the heavy lifting yourself.

Removal and prep

Old flooring comes out first - see our floor removal and prep page for what that involves on different floor types. We haul away and dispose of the old material as part of every job, never leaving it as a surprise line item.

Subfloor check

This is the step that separates a floor that lasts from one that doesn't. We check for level, moisture, and damage before anything new goes down, and flag any repairs needed - our floor repair team handles that in-house rather than pausing the project to bring in a separate contractor.

Installation

Timelines vary by material and room count - most single-room jobs finish in a day, whole-home projects typically run two to four days. Our own crew handles the entire job from start to finish; we don't hand it off to day labor partway through.

The final walkthrough

We walk the finished floor with you before calling the job done - checking transitions, trim, and any spots that need a second look. Everything is backed by our one-year installation guarantee.
