Vinyl Flooring Stairs - frequently asked questions
Modern LVP is embossed with a low-slip micro-texture rated specifically for stair use. It's more slip-resistant than polyurethaned hardwood and comparable to LVT in a commercial setting.
We remove the carpet, padding, staples, and tack strip first, then evaluate the treads. Solid wood treads get a quick leveling pass and the LVP goes right on top; particleboard or damaged treads get replaced first.
Not when properly installed. We re-secure every tread and add construction adhesive before laying the plank, which typically leaves the staircase quieter than it was before.
